Numerology/Astrology for 2/23/17

2/23/17 is the number 8. The number 8 asks you to learn to harness deep intense emotions and find ways to use that energy to constructively make changes in your internal and external worlds. Emotions such as sadness teach you compassion for others and teach you to have courage even when you believe things are hopeless. It is the powerful dark emotions that break down the barriers that have been creating complacency and that have been blocking the transformations that this world needs to move towards. Often you have to really get intensely upset at situations before you will become active in coming together with others and make necessary changes. You cannot have a peaceful and harmonious world if there are rules and laws that divide and cause suffering. Today, notice if anything you are doing is actively causing separation and suffering for others. Have you made choices that create more prejudice or allow for healing? Are you coming together with others or are you creating walls and barriers to any meaningful connections? This is the number of the Spiritual Laws of Cause and Effect. It is time to withdraw from those who are projecting a superiority complex into the world. It is time to step back from those that are greedy, tactless, and domineering. It is time to stand together against those who believe they are superior and who look down on others.

The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn until 12:18 PM EST, after which it’s in Aquarius, and you are less focused on individual success and performance and more concerned with team effort. Emotional satisfaction comes from a strong sense of independence and equality. A sextile between Mercury and Saturn today will help to ground you this intense energy that has been going on for days. It’s a good time to get organized, to do detail work, and to make preparations. Decisions made now tend to be practical and well thought out. Work done now is likely to yield tangible results in the future. You begin to rely on more traditional methods and structures to accomplish the important tasks in your life. While the Mercury-Saturn influence encourages a systematic, logical approach to your work and thinking processes, a Mercury-Venus semi-square points to some sensitivity to one another’s communications. There is a tendency to misunderstand each other so be aware of that and learn to listen before you respond.

Quote

Look inside to where you harbor beliefs and thoughts
that project negativity and suffering on others.
Look inside and address your own insecurities and fears
that fuel that negativity outward into the world.
Only by objectively looking at yourself with compassion
can you begin to heal the divide
that you see and are projecting out into the world.

I see the pain the world is in. But so much of it is created by those who believe that their experience is more important than the experiences of others. Imposing your views on others creates more suffering and resentment. Take a look at how you want to be right. Take a look at how you slant your words and reality to validate that opinion. Just remember that it is just that, an opinion. It does not matter how many people agree with you and it does not matter if it is written in great books. That is because it is the interpretation of words and how our perception twists things to validate our prejudices that we need to become aware of. Those subtle twists can turn great wisdom into actions that become the horrors of humanity. I have said it before and I will say it again. They easiest way to navigate the world is very simple. If you are doing something that intentionally causes harm to others, you are in the wrong. If you do things that make you feel better, stronger, more valuable, and more important than others, then you are acting out of ego not compassion. If this world is to survive we have to awaken the compassionate heart that resides in each person to such a powerful place that we recognize that it is our choices and actions that cause love and healing or destruction and chaos. Honestly look at your world and notice how much anger you are holding in your body. Honestly look inside and see the festering resentment that is the fuel that you are using to justify your past choices. Only when you can own the wounding that is motivating your actions can you begin to awaken and choose another path.
